The UT 200 Butane Gun is a great piece of equipment, designed for professional use. However, after extended use it can be expected that some basic parts may need to be replaced. Typically there are a couple of parts to the gun that may need to be replaced, the tip or nozzle and the internal burner or ejector. To the top left is and example of an old cordoned up burner compared to a new unit the old one obviously needs replacing. You will notice that the old one is black and blocked therefore gas will no longer be able to go through the filter. The tool becomes difficult to light and the burner flame loses effectiveness.
How to know if you need a replacement part:
1/ To ensure that the internal burner is functioning correctly. Remove the outer housing and light the unit without any shroud or nozzle in place. The flame should be blue and burning to a point. As the gas is increased or decreased the flame should increase or decrease as well. If the flame is yellow and "loose" where there is no or little blue point , - the burner is carboned up or partially blocked and needs replacing.
2/ Check the ceramic honeycomb diffuser in the nozzle. This will need replacing as it burns away, is cracked or broken in any way.
3/ It is also best to run the tool at less than half fuel volume as too much fuel will always create a flame with the excess fuel being fed in. We carry the parts are in stock.at all times. We offer a full range of replacement parts! However, here is a few tips to help make sure you are looking after your gun and keeping it in the possible condition and functional order.
TIPS: Check the condition of the nozzle diffuser regularly. Be careful not to drop or jolt the tool when operating as this can shatter the honeycomb in the tip.
Always use a high quality gas such as Weller or ultra fine filtered gas, to avoid blocking up the system with cheap butane gas.
** If other problems are evident it is best to send the tool to us for maintenace, calibration and repairs to ensure it is functioning correctly
